Below are some pictures from the Sport and Beginner races and we'll have some from the Expert and Elite race soon, as well as results. Great job team, the mountain bike community was impressed today for sure and we put on a great show. I heard more than once that we were the "coolest team" there. Of course, we were the only team giving away free burgers and 'dogs, but I'll take the compliments! Great job everyone.
Angie in her first mountain bike race. We'll convert her from a "roadie"sooner or later!
She took first place (by about 5 minutes) in her first race. Looks like she'll be moving up to Sport soon...
Josh hammering away for another 1st place finish in the Sport category. Not bad for his first year of racing a mountain bike. Great job Josh. Below is a note that he sent along recapping the day:
Today, Team Active Racing had an arsenal at its disposal. My job was to race, and I did my part by winning Sport Men 19-29. With the help of some Advil after last weekends fight with the tree, I was able to recover back to 100% for the Fort Custer Stampede. I'm glad that I could do well here in my hometown. First of all, I would like to thank my family for coming and supporting me. A special thanks goes out to the TAR mechanic Willie for fixing my Lefty, he got it back to new condition. Also thank you to Team Active Racing for the Awesome Jerseys! Thanks to the Great Harvest Bread Company for the excellent cookies and bread. It really hit the spot after my race. Also, I would like to thank Mike Groat and Steve Bessonny for the cookout. It was very appreciated by all riders and non-riders alike. This event was a textbook case for a great day of racing. My next race is the Owassippee TT Sunday May 18th. Thanks again to everyone, and look forward to more results from Team Active Racing.
Keith putting his head down to bring it home.
Here's Cameron taking a look around to see just how far away the finish line is.
Here's Austin following in his father's footsteps. Are we looking at the 2018 Trans Iowa winner?
